Barn Swallows

One of the many benefits to country living is having barn swallows build a nest and keep the mosquito population at a minimum. And it’s amazing to watch them swoop and dive-bomb here and there catching the little critters.

Here’s momma feeding her little birdlings. Who doesn’t love an action shot?

Here’s babies crying because their still hungry. Can you believe how wide they can open their mouths? “Look mommy! Pick me pick ME! My mouth is open the widest!”

You may be asking yourself, ‘I wonder what the downside is to having a bird nest built directly to the side of your structure?’ Here’s one example:
