Ann’s Backsplash

June 27, 2010 by Bethany Sy

Ann is the daughter of Stan and Sue, and also has an amazing house… with a very creative and funky vibe. We loved her design style and the fact that she wanted to be wild with the painting of her backplash! She has a green/blue thing going on in her kitchen and dining room, and wanted us to use these pieces as inspiration. And she, literally, wanted a green and blue backsplash. FUN!

So the backplash… looked like this.

And now it looks like this.

The little ladies of the house liked it a lot, and we’re pretty confident Ann loved it too!! She said it was better than she envisioned it!!! We weren’t sure that manly-man/firefighter/dad TJ liked as it much as the rest of the estrogen filled room, but we hope it grows on him. And if it doesn’t… it’s just PAINT!

How did you give it that texture? Or is that just paint that looks textured?

the wall was already heavily textured prior to us painting the ’tiles’. There was no texture in the paint we used.

Sorry I missed you while you were painting Ann’s… we didn’t get home from church as quickly as I thought we might. But I stopped over yesterday afternoon, and oh my goodness, it is so great!! The colors couldn’t be more perfect. And when I was there, TJ seemed pretty pleased too. Good work!!
