A Stamp of History

January 16, 2010 by Bethany Sy

I don’t really have anything to say at the moment, just bored and feel like writing! Currently my feet are really cold, a side effect of having hardwood floors. There are occasions when I think it would be nice to have carpet, but then I think about how beautiful and OLD our floors are. They are the original floors when our house was built in 1900. Which brings me to considering how much history our home has… do any of you ever wonder what all has happened in your home before you occupied it? Our house has been here for 110 years… there must have been so many happy and sad moments in this house! Perhaps there were babies born here, back in the day when they gave birth at home. Surely happy families used to dwell here, as well as torn families. Hopefully nobody died here, because that would freak me out. It’s probably best if I never know. But either way, I’m really glad that our home is old and has lots of character. And I’m going to enjoy adding my own stamp of history to this house, to pass on to our generations, or whoever lives here after us.

But for now, I’m just a lonely girl… bored on a Friday night with cold feet.
