TGIF Anyone?

January 20, 2012 by Bethany Sy

Whataweek yo? I haven’t left the house since Saturday (that’s right, 6 days), but it’s been kinda nice to just chillax with the girlfriends and get back into the jive of life after my near breakdown last Friday at the Dr’s office. We’ve all recovered from the trauma, although Dell’s been feeling a little icky this week.

Babes are becoming a little more accustomed to eating their baby cereal now that I’m mixing bananas in, but it still seems like they spit out more than they swallow. I’m just gonna keep persevering though! We tried apples yesterday, and Paisley gagged so hard I thought for sure she was gonna lose her lunch! Maybe we’ll revisit apples some other time?

Know what’s weird? Sometimes I’m just not sure how to end a post. You see, I don’t really have anything else to say, and all I can think about is the bag of chocolate chips that’s calling my name. So sometimes I probably end abruptly, and other times I’m sure I just ramble on and on because I’m terrible at wrapping things up.

Good talk.

rob, i did boil the apples till they were soft, and then pureed till creamy. i think they just didn’t like it cause it was new. i tried the apples again yesterday (only mixed with their cereal) and they ate it ok. maybe every time i introduce a new food i’ll have to mix it with their cereal until they get used to the new flavor? we’ll see!

You crack me up! I’m the same way with chit chat–I can strike up a conversation with just about anybody, but I’m never sure how to end it and usually end up just wandering awkwardly away…I need to stop being so dern friendly–HA!
    Cute cute smiley babies!

Hold the spoon on the roof of their mouths for a few seconds rather than just spooning it in. They’ll begin to suck which gives them the swallowing skills they need to learn. Less to scrape off their chins that way!!

I love to check in each week to see how they are growing!!

Jonah hated carrots, squash, avocado, and peas when he first tried them. He gagged too. But since then I’ve mixed them with fruit to get him used to them and now he does great! 🙂

Mary that’s so weird! How long ago was that? I’ve had some others email me and tell me the blog won’t let them comment. So frustrating! I don’t know how to fix these things!

Is anyone else out there having difficulty viewing or commenting? Email me if you must 🙂

Good to have you back Mary!

I was having trouble opening up your site, but found a link at Better After, I thought you gave up blogging, now i need to catch up. Babies are so sweet. Remember they don’t know how to swallow yet it take time to learn this new thing. Good luck, it gets easier. Mary
