Chocolate Whoopie Pie Cake Recipe

This chocolate whoopie pie cake has a sweet marshmallow cream filling and creamy chocolate ganache topping. Perfect for a Valentines Day treat!
  • 1 box Pillsbury Devils Food Cake Mix
  • 1- 3.9oz box Instant Chocolate Fudge Pudding
  • ¾ cup Water
  • ¾ cup Vegetable Oil
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Marshmallow Creme Filling
  • 10 Tablespoons Butter, room temp
  • 1- 7oz jar Marshmallow Creme
  • ⅛ tsp Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2½ cups Powdered Sugar
Chocolate Ganache
  • 3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • ½ cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients for the cake and mix well. Spray a bundt pan with non-stick baking spray with flour and spread the batter evenly. Bake. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn onto a cooling rack and cool completely.
  1. Combine the butter and marshmallow creme and beat until smooth. Add in the vanilla and salt and beat again until combined. Add in the powdered sugar one cup at a time and beat until light and fluffy. Add in the food coloring and mix until color is evenly distributed.
  2. Cut the cake in half when its cool and spread the marshmallow filling in between the layers.
  1. In a small bowl heat up the cream for 45 seconds and then add the chocolate chips and and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir until the chocolate chips are all melted and spread on top of the cake.
