If you all haven’t noticed, I have a tendency to move from job to job. It’s not because I’m irresponsible, I just keep trying to find my niche in life. Unfortunately, my only TRUE niche won’t become a reality until my ovaries start firing on all 4 cylinders. But for now, I will find contentment in may lack-of-contentment regarding my career.
In addition to my job at McFarland Clinic, I’ve recently started working 3 days a week taking care of a lovely quadriplegic man named Mike… and his horses. It’s a very rewarding job, but taxing on my small body. I love caring for elderly, but horses? I just like to look at them… and occasionally ride them.
But slowly, I’m getting used to scooping poo out of stalls, and hauling huge bales of hay through a pasture 2 feet deep in mud and you-know-what, being nudged by horses the whole way… in the rain.
This is TRUE initiation into country living. And I’m failing miserably.
However, as a 3rd job for Nick, he’s begun training horses for Mike, so sometimes we get to work together!
